Quality Health & Physical Education Project
History
This project was originally started in l993. It was then put on hold while the Missouri Assessment Program in health and physical education was being developed.
In l996 the project was reactivated and has been conducted each year since that time.
The project is a combined effort of MOAHPERD and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education along with the Regional Professional Development Centers and the Southwest Center for Excellence in Education in Webb City, Missouri.
The purpose of the project is to provide professional development for health and physical education teachers on timely topics.
Workshops
Each year in February professional development workshops are scheduled at the nine RPDCs and the Southwest Center for Excellence in Education. Health and physical education teachers need not be members of MOAHPERD to attend the workshops. Registration for the workshops is handled by the RPDCs and the SW Center for Excellence in Education.
By December 1 of each year the schedule for the workshops and a description of the workshops will be posted on the MOAHPERD web site under workshops. Instructions as to how to register will also be posted in the same place.
If you are interested in the location of the RPDCs go to the DESE Leadership Academy. RPDC information will be posted there. A map is also available at this site.
