Outstanding Student Major Award - 2009

Following the lead of the National Association for Sport and Physical Education, MOAHPERD presents an award each year to an Outstanding Future Professionals from  colleges and universities in the state.  Colleges and universities in the state of Missouri offering undergraduate majors in physical education, health, recreation, dance, exercise science, sport science, kinesiology, or directly related fields are invited to identify for each of those programs an outstanding future professional for recognition by MOAHPERD.  The purpose of the program is to honor outstanding future professionals in the state and to focus attention on the work they have accomplished.  This program will provide an incentive for future professionals in our colleges and universities to continue to strive for excellence in their professional preparation.

QUALIFYING STANDARDS

  1. Junior or senior standing
  2. Overall GPA of 3.25 or higher
  3. Professional involvement (at least a member of)
    -majors club
    -MOAHPERD
    -other professional activities
  4. Leadership evidence
  5. Other professional accomplishments

PROCEDURES FOR APPLYING

Each college or university may select only one outstanding future professional for each degree program they offer using this form.  The completed form should be sent via regular mail, e-mailed, or faxed to:
